Job Description

The client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to develop the market for Digital Grid Solutions strategy across North Asia region. The successful candidate will be responsible for exploring and capitalizing on business opportunities within the energy sector, focusing on (but not limited to) Digital Grid solutions/services. This role requires a strong understanding of the energy industry, including regulatory frameworks, environmental considerations, and market dynamics, with a particular emphasis on high voltage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential opportunities for growth in the North Asia region, particularly targeting Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and China.

  • Business Development: Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate new markets or expand within existing markets. This includes identifying key stakeholders, negotiating partnerships, and securing contracts.

  • Sectors of Focus:Utility Companies and Grid Operators
    Industrial and Manufacturing Sectors
    Government and Regulatory Bodies
    Data Centers
    Renewable Energy Providers and Developers

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients, energy sector regulators, and influential parties in the industry.

  • Product and Solution Innovation: Collaborate with the product development team to tailor digital grid solutions that meet specific regional needs and regulations. Stay updated on grid technologies, especially in high voltage systems, to ensure the solutions remain cutting-edge.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Navigate and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations concerning energy and grid technologies. Stay abreast of changes in environmental policies that could impact business operations or opportunities.

  • Project Oversight: Work closely with Project and Implementation team to ensure that all projects are aligned with business objectives and delivered on time and within budget.

  • Reporting and Strategy: Regularly report to senior management on market trends, project statuses, and strategic insights. Assist in shaping the company's long-term strategy for the North Asia region

Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. / B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree is preferred.

  • Experience:Minimum of 7 years in Business development or Sales roles within the energy sector.
    Proven track record in managing complex projects in the utility or energy industry.
    Direct experience with high voltage systems and grid technologies is highly desirable.

  • Skills:Excellent understanding of the energy sector, including regulatory frameworks, environmental policies, and industry trends.
    Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    Strategic thinking with an analytical approach to solving business challenges.
    Proficiency in English and Mandarin. Other Asian languages is a plus for effective communication across North Asia.
